Okay so as we all know it’s BET weekend in the ATL and everybody and theymama is out right now in Atlanta. So below is a list of all the hottest spots to hit up this weekend. We’re letting you know which parties to hit up and who will be there so get your pen and paper!
Friday: VELVET ROOM
Snoop Dogg and Akon
This is a don’t miss event! More of a grown and sexy crowd…should be real chill in there. Lip Gloss Mafia will be there first!
ESSO
Diddy is in town!
We are headed here next…Diddy always shuts the city down when he’s in town so ladies don’t slip. ESSO isn’t as grown and sexy as Velvet but they do their best.
Saturday: COMPOUND
Diddy, Frank Ski, AG Entertainment
So Diddy and Frank Ski and Alex Gidewon are reuniting for the hottest party of the whole weekend. The BET awards after party and sadly the superstars that will be in the building aren’t the hottest attraction. It’s the opening of COMPOUND that’s doing it for me! This club is F-I-R-E…Lip Gloss Mafia was out there last weekend for Clark Atlanta’s Homecoming and it was stupid crazy. The venue is gorgeous, there are several different rooms and 2 diffrent dj’s. I love this club it’s my all time fave! BE THERE OR YOU ARE A LOOSER!
Sunday: VELVET ROOM
Ludacris is taking over Velvet Room yet again…and I know what you’re thinking, ”yea well” but it’s cool Luda is sure to bring out plenty other celebs and everyone will still be in town from the awards.
You shouldn’t be anywhere else but these clubs this weekend…don’t let the other promoters fool you…they are not OFFICIAL BET WEEKEND HIP HOP AWARDS parties!

Okay so you guys no that Lip Gloss Mafia loves drink specials, especially when those specials say FREE or OPEN BAR!
Well we had to let ya’ll know about this one! Things have been pretty gloomy and slow since MJ passed away but I think he would have wanted us all to celebrate his life rather than mourn.
So with that being said…let’s go get TIPSY!
UTOPIA Bar & Grille is doing it big Sunday night with a $25 entry you get endless appetizers, top shelf liquor open bar, and a hot party. They’re calling it ‘Summer Slam Sundays’ and we have a feeling this might be worth it! I mean unlimited appetizers and open bar always sounds good, and really when you think about it $25 isn’t bad!

It’s apparently going down this Friday night at the Libra. An NFL draft party hosted by four major NFL players. Sounds like young millionaires to me!

Update
So we headed out to Libra on Friday night for this event and no surprise it was a crazy line outside. Libra use to be H2O so we anticipated a hood and younger crowd. WE WERE RIGHT!
The Venue: It’s a nice spot and could use some improvements but definitely has potential. Nice layout and huge dance floor.
The Crowd: Hood, hood, hood! Which can be a good thing if that’s your cup of tea. Lip Gloss Mafia personally prefers grown and sexy parties however we ever so often revert back to the college days and head to a younger spot where flip flops and jerseys are accepted. So if that’s your type of party then we definitely recommend Libra on Friday nights.
The DJ: A+ the music was hot and he was playing not only hood songs or Atlanta native songs but as well as Top 100 songs which in our book is a must for a successful club. One thing we hate is going to a spot and they only play songs by underground artist or Atlanta natives…for example, PRIMETIME…ughhhh! Hated it! I haven’t been back there in a couple years but it soooo did not hit the spot for me! Also, you could hear the music from far back in the parking lot so the DJ was definitely hitting.
The Entry: F…promoters defintitely need to work on a better entry plan. We had red wristbands which we were told gets you in before 12, VIP, in a special line. Well little to our surprise…so did everyone else! The line was rdiculous and we don’t wait in lines. So of course we got in through the REAL VIP line, however we feel bad for the other hundreds of folks who were conned into thinking that the red wristbands would get them in faster…shame on you promoters!
The Overall Performance: B-…Overall it was an okay performance. A few things should definitely be fixed in order to improve. If you’re looking for a hood club that has a younger crowd then we recommend Libra but if your more into grown and sexy chill spots then run far far away!

Did you ever think that there would be a spot where ladies could drink free for a whole hour and there was no cover charge for ANYONE???
Yeah me either! But apparently Leopard Lounge is making it happen. This spot has a sexy, decatant feel to it and a really nice atmosphere. Definitely the place to be on a Friday night if your feeling grown, sexy, cool and casual.

Okay…so once again it’s going down at Esso. This club has been slowly making its way up to my favorite list for a couple months now.
Atmosphere: A+

Hosted by Metro Boyz Entertainment and Jeff Johnson, Eye Candy Saturday’s is a must have event. This spot is crazy, with two levels and an open kitchen serving sushi and overpriced crab cakes until late morning.
From 8pm until 10pm there is a live band that absolutely wows the crowd everytime. This spot has a grown and sexy vibe and denies all unnesscary behavior. The DJ does a mix of Hot 100 and old school getting the crowd into and making the atmosphere even sexier.
This is the place to be on a Saturday night!

 Actor Jamie Foxx with Atlanta Club Events promoter Porsha Ever since she met him, Atlanta club promoter Porsha has a thing going on for Hollywood actor Jamie Foxx (pictured at right.)
Judging by how tightly Porsha is holding onto Foxx in this photo, she appears to have no intention of letting him go — back to Hollywood that is. But Foxx has to commute to work, doesn’t he?
Everyone knew Foxx is a great actor, so it wasn’t a surprise when he won the 2005 Oscar Academy Award as Best Actor for starring in Ray. But the movie did surprise a lot of people who didn’t know how great a singer Foxx is until they saw him perform in the movie.
As a singer, Foxx is breaking out with his J Records debut, UNPREDICTABLE. The tracks feature lots of musical guest stars. “Unpredictable” was the first single off the album, some hot tracks to start a party with.
Music is not new to Jamie — he was a music student at San Diego’s United States International University. He sang on Kanye West’s #1 single “Gold Digger,” their second follow up to their first track, last year’s Grammy-nominated smash “Slow Jamz.”
